what does base-appt. mean???

i got a letter in the mail and it says that i should apply with this company. and it says $13.00 base-appt. .... i hear that you get $13 for every appointment you set up with someone ... but then i hear that you get $13 per hour no matter what, and then every appointment you set up you get extra money. which is it? i mean, if it's ONLY 13 bucks for each appointment only ... then i wont be makin enough .. HA! and i JUST found out that the company sells knives. i mean, who really wants to buy knives?

I'm not sure what base-appt means, but it sounds like you have a good idea of what it might mean.

It seems like you described a company called VECTOR which sells knives. They try to attract seniors in high school, and college students. My friend use to work for them. (she got cut doing a knife presentation)

Be advised that you must purchase a set of knives (about $250) in order to do your presentation. Then for every presentation, you ask that customer to recommend you 5 more people you can present to and it continues this way.
Like you said, who really wants knives. And these knives are really expensive. In essence, you are selling to your immediate family, extended family, and family friends, because they are going to feel sorry enough to purchase these knives from you.
