Hot glue and ceramics?
Okay, so I make a 3 1/2 foot ceramic birdbath, and in the water dish part I got a crack, it doesn't go all the way through, its more of a slice on the surface than anything. My only concern is the glaze made it very sharp there. If I put hot glue on the slice will it:
not come off?
make the glaze less sharp?
not mess up the water it'll hold?
seal it?

I love to make large scale hand built pieces and I fired it in the kiln at my school, it's MONSTROUS. 8 feet tall at least.
I would probably try whether a silicon sealant like you would use for a bathroom tub works. It comes in different colors and maybe you find one which doesn't show up that much. It will be easier to fill the crack with and to work than hot glue. And it's made to seal water out of cracks.
