What do i ask for when getting my hair cut -_-?

Rawr im just a typical dude with long hair.. and i like my long hair but its about that time it needs to be cut.. everytime i go to the salon im all like hey can you just trim it a couple inches and theyre all like yeah sure *BUTCHERS ALL HIS HAIR AND LEAVES LIKE 2 INCHES*.. they do this everytime.. is there smething i need to say? ask? ive been told to bring a picture in there and tell them what i want, by a chickfriend.. =/ if it helps in answering this question, i have brown layered hair, wavy . thank you anyone your really helping me here
O and btw i would like something that gives me bangs, that flip to the side, thanks

yeah ur frns is right ...pics are gud but make sure that you KNOW what u want for sure and give the guy a very detailed description of what u want and make sure that he understands u...coz u dont wanna take chances with ur hair...its happened to me a coupla times..
u cud even tell him the exact lenght u want it to be and that under no circumstances shud he cut it shorter than that
